I dug the original spare tire out of the trunk tonight just to see what it really looks like. I've never seen one up close before. I like it!!

I remember those. I even had double whites on my '70 Harley.

Get the measurements of the double lines and call Diamonback Classics-
they will put them on a radial for you. Its about 245/tire though.

my 69 lesabre still sits on all 4 original bF goodrich silvertown double stripes,repros in bias are $150. LIKE RIDING ON ROUND CINDER BLOCKS!WILMAHHHHHH!

I wish these repro tire companies would expand the sizes they offer to include sizes used on our late 60' early 70's full sized cars.
Beyond the sizes F-78 or G-78 which are popular on mid sized cars.
How about some H, J, and L sizes in 70 and 78 series that don't have wide gangster whitewalls?
I had L-78's on my '72 LeSabre way back when. Those were some tall tires!
In some respects I liked bias-ply tires over radials for smoothness
(Once warmed up) and quiteness.

yep,they make the same old tired gangster whitewalls for the same old tired played out 1950s cars.remember, any car other than a camaro or impala from the 60s or 70s merely doesnt exist.period.the fonz lives!!!!heyyyyy!
