When I bought my convertible, the trunk was completely bare. There was no original cardboard, not even a worthless mat. I had been ashamed to open it at shows, because I knew it would hurt the looks of the car as a whole. I finally decided to do something about it when I reworked the stereo in the car. See the link for all the pictures of the process:

Where did you get the trunk facelift done at? Or did you do it yourself? If so any helpful hints. Thanks

I did it myself on a Saturday afternoon a few years ago. The link just above the pictures in the first post detail the work.

It was pretty easy, actually. I made everything easily removable, in case I had to get to something. The only things I every removed on occasion were the speaker and the spare tire to drag race. Of course, that only happened once a year...

I'm for hire, too:cool:

Is that a trunk lid opening device sitting in the middle? I've only seen them behind the lock on the lid before..???

71 cars had the electric trunk release like you see it on this car. It was a solenoid that was bolted to the receiver. There was another piece bolted to the trunk latch that the solenoid pushes when activated that opens the trunk.

The 72 and later versions had only the trunk mounted latch with a wire that was routed through the trunklid.

Looked at the link... You're really good with that stuff... I cleaned mine out and painted it in flat black. Problem here is that when it rains it rains into the trunk too, I guess that's one more thing on the list..... I also took off the lower trim piece on the q-panel at the back yesterday and there were plenty of bubbles to be found, and a hole the size of a quarter :( .. but I'm planning on signing up for the body shop class again that starts in about two weeks... :Brow: This time there is no Riviera that is in need of a new floor to wrok on :o

Any more stuff like that on the site you linked to? If you take out the trunk resto word, there's nothing under just /centurion, but an error page?

right...there is no index page in that folder. Let me see if I can find anything worth posting. Most of what I have done has been posted, except the head rebuild from 2003 when I bought the car.
