looking for a 73 buick centurion trunk key slot with logo swing door. Key and release works fine but logo too scratched up to see the centurion logo, so if I can get just the trim without the lock that would be fine too.

Just a possible idea here. You do need to have the emblem off the car. It is pop rivetted on the car and you can drill out the rivets (2) be real carefull doing it. The complete emblem will then come off from around the trunk lock keyway. Re-installation they can easily be rivetted back on. I do not recommend seperating the swing door from the rest of the emblem I never tried it and am not sure if it can be reattached.

Once you remove the entire emblem get yourself some emory cloth a fine grade. Get a small bowl of soapy water. While watching TV at night with the bowl on your lap use the emory and wet sand the face centurion emblem on the part that is scratched up.

On mine is was all foggy that you can barely see the helmet inside. After a few weeks of watching late night TV and wet sanding the emblem I got it clear again.

The coating on the emblem is a clear epoxy type resin. I remembered back in high school in shop we put coins inside a small wooden cube mold and filled it with this clear resin. When it dried it was foggy and not clear. We had to wet sand it until the cube was clear and the coins seemed to look suspended inside it. Same principal here, unless yours is way too far gone.

Its worth a try because these emblems are a one year, one model only style and ones in real good condition commands some big bucks. They are not easy to find.
