Hello all,
I recently purchased a 1973 Centurion Convertible from an estate sale. I knew the individual who passed away and with a great deal of luck, I was able to aquire the car. Here are the specs..

Triple black
350 c.i.
am/fm 8-track
spoke hubcaps

and not much else... however,

20,100 miles!

No rust, and original everything except tires and radiator (that I can tell so far).
This car runs perfectly but does need some transmission seals and new shocks.

I will post some before and after pictures soon. I made a profile in the registry...how soon until it gets posted???

Thanks and I'll see you soon.

Welcome to the board! We look forward to seeing photos of your car!

I rarely get a chance to update the actual registry website anymore, but I may be able to squeeze yours in pretty soon.

Welcome, GPS !
Your car seems to be one of those "like-new-cars"; guess that makes us all really curious to see some pictures of such a rare car (you could post them here with the function "manage attachments").

Wish you all the best with her !

After some cleaning, here are a few pics. I'm probably 50% done with getting it ready for the rest of the summer. It needs 1 more transmission seal and some adjustments on the carb. and then I just want to enjoy it. I stuck a Buick hood ornament in the hole that the original owner drilled into the hood to put his Mack bulldog! Next week, it gets fully detailed.

question... where could I find the build sheet? I've looked under the back seat cushion and everywhere else... Someone metioned over the gas tank??

Thanks.

gps, wow, that is absolutely beautiful! You've acquired an amazing "find".

Thanks so much for the additional details and the excellent photos.

gps, I'm continuing to enjoy your photos. This car looks so sleek and clean with the black paint and the absence of the protective side molding option. It's great to see the original wire wheel cover option, and the red accent stripe is perfect for a black car.

The car is so appealing because of its originality and excellent condition. The fact that it has few options is part of what makes this one unique and interesting.

Is the car's entire history known?

If we put together another Centurion calendar for 2009, I hope that a photo of this beautiful example can be included.

gps, does the car have the windshield glass radio antenna? The addition of the rear quarter antenna looks great, but it is a non-factory item. Since it appears that the vehicle was owned by a policeman, one wonders whether the antenna was installed for purposes of a police scanner or radio.

gps, are you familiar with the hard fiberglass convertible top boots (factory option) for these cars? It struck me that this would be a stunning addition to this particular car. If you're interested in more information about these, I'm sure that our convertible owners will chime in here with more details.

I do know the entire history of the car. I knew the original owner and he owned a plumbing and heating company in Providence and he would occasionally buy a car and put them away in his company garage. He died in 2005. He had a 1966 Rambler (I think) station wagon (mint green) with 40,000 miles aong with this car that I could have bought also. There were several others that were already sold. I remember this Buick from 30 years ago because his license plate was '771' .

I do know that the rear antenna is not a factory item.. there is the antenna in the windshield. If I ever paint the car, I would remove it.

See you all soon...

Hey Greg !! I welcome you personally my man, as we have something in common! Triple black drop tops with no A/C !! It makes for a fun summer, trust me. Watch those thighs when you're wearing shorts!!! :Brow:

To Brian's point, a parade boot would look awesome on your lovely lady there! I bought one last year, sent it to the painters and it's ready to install. (I haven't yet, simply b/c we've had such a great spring, that I didn't want to leave her out of commission very long. Plus it's Little League season and I've got three playing. Just too busy!)

Anyway, back to your car... what a find! You will find that people at red lights are going to try to buy it out from under you! She's a real header turner! And the guys on here will love it, b/c you've got that sleek look with the wire wheels and white walls. My ride is too much of a "hot rod" look for some of the purists on here, so now you'll just get thrown into the discussion... or should I say debate!

Love the right hand mirror too. I've got one but have yet to install. (same reason as above!!) I'm loving that fact that you're car already has it, as now I don't have to wonder what it will look like!!! You are the man!

Where are you located? It says New England in your post, so are you in Connecticut ? Good for you, as it's a bit cooler up there in the summer, so you might not get those burned legs I was discussing!

Enjoy her Greg. I certainly am. What a specimen!
:beers:

Welcome aboard, Greg. Your beautiful Centurion has garnered lots of attention and rightfully so. It is in just beautiful condition and the option list -- what is there and what isn't -- is totally unique and interesting. Obviously, your car lacks most of the geegaws (and I think you don't even have tinted glass or windshield) yet there is the AM-FM Stereo 8 track, wire wheel covers and the accessory group. Those were such wonderful days when your car could be built just the way you wanted it and your car is a perfect example of that.

We're glad you're here and thanks for sharing all the great scans too.

greg, your car is beautiful, from an originality standpoint, and im sure others will agree, these cars are so hard to find as original survivors, with 20,000 miles yet, i would not dare to do any paint work to it, leave it as is.you have something special. phil
