Where's everyone hiding????
Ebay hasn't had too much either. There was the red and black '73 Centurion convertible from California that ended last night and not much else.
Just wondering what was going on with everyone.

We're all out in the garage finishing up those few last minute items required to get the boat underway.

That's right!
And this is the REAL busy season for the irrigation business over here.

Well, my car is still in repair, and the work is going pretty slow. So I can't fix up things or drive the boat. Last wednesday I visited the body shop and checked the work. Looks pretty good. The welded in body work almost doesn't need bondo so that's real craftmanship. When I was there last wednesday I fired it up, I missed the sound of the 455. :confused4::D

Hey guys... I'm as guilty as anyone.... life has gotten in the way with me. Too much going on. 4 kids, three in little league, of which I am president of. Just not enough hours in the day. Plus, feeling guilty for not having the damn shirts done yet, so I am avoiding you all. :o
Sorry for my part, but I've promissed myself to get the shirts done and to check in here frequently b/c I miss it so damn much. Hell, all of my winter projects are still sitting in their boxes waiting for me to get to them. (new dash bezels, new speedo bezel, right hand mirror, rear view mirror, under the hood sound absorbing felt (can't remember what that's called), etc.)
Did take her out twice over the Holiday weekend. What a joy to drive. I simply love it. Getting a nice tune up tomorrow, along with a pointless distributor, plugs and wires. Can't wait.
Need to find Rally wheels. Mine are 10 footers and one is not straight, so I get a nasty wobble at 60mph. (hopefully local, so I don't have to pay $50 shipping)
Anyway, I am back. Sorry for "vacationing" so long.... missed you all!
:beers:

No sweat Steve, we all know how hard it is to find the time for our toys.
After one week abroad I’m behind with everything myself, need to find me a new daily driver among other things :tonge2:

What do you mean with 10 footers?

What do you mean with 10 footers?
That means they look OK from 10 feet away, anything closer and you will notice some flaws in the condition of the item. Sometimes parts or entire cars themselves are referred to as a "10 footer", a "20 footer" which tells the reader/listener the approximate condition of the part/vehicle; ie: "It looks good from 20 feet away".

Good explanation Brad.... thanks for chipping in! The wheels look great until you get right up to them. Then you notice the small flaws that are there...
Hey Per..... come on man, just go buy another Beemer!! Aren't they a dime a dozen over there, or am I just buying into the stereotype that all Europeans are driving Beemers, Benz's or Volkswagons! (Or good old fashion American Muscle!)

Wow - that's a good expression to know. That would make my entire car a 20 footer. I often describe it as a 20 footer due to its total length, but unfortunately that's also the distance at which it looks best. The rust bubbles and torn upholstery that I inherited when I bought it haven't been dealt with, but I'm having too much fun driving it, and living in Atlanta means it's a 12 month vehicle (top down in January).

Similar expression I had back in the late 70's was the color of my 70 GS which I painted myself the color blue. Well after I was done I called it "Block Away Blue" It looked great a block (length of a square block in a city) away:D
That was the one and only time I ever attempted to do body work and paint.:p

:beers:just watch it when and if you buy center caps for the wheels, i bought4 new repro caps for the 73,ithink i got screwed, the repros are a bit different from the original in that the chrome cap itself is more rounded in the diameter than the originals, which have a crisp line that drops to the plastic center.that line on the repros is rounded, what pisses me off is that the company, based in new jersey, someone ive done lots of business with, had a attitude like,"youre way too picky"damn straight at nearly 50 bucks a pop plus tax and shipping!and the irony of it was when i ordered them there list stated they had a dozen or so nos ones at around 60 dollars but was told 'abrubtly, oh were out of those. yet when i called to complain about the repros, the clerk said when i asked again about the nos ones, said oh we have those!I said ok then ill send back the repros, he then said ,did you install them,i said, yeah, why? he3 then said oh then we cant take them back,i said i put them on with my hands, i didnt beat them on with an ax! so i called 3 more times to speak with the owner,to no avail. this all may seem trivial to alot of you guys but not to ne, exact reproduction means just that.so needless to say i did buy 4 nos caps, and gave the "exact reproductions" to a friend.i know other people who had problems with this place when it came down to standing behind what they sell.well, ive learned!i bet most of you guys can guess the name of this place! if not, ill tell you.phil:Dou:

I am on the hunt for another Beamer, I’m just too picky about price, miles and color, options etc, but any day soon now….
There is a huge market on used BMW’s over here when they get over 90 000 miles, those cars are rather “cold” and hard to sell even if they have a LOT left in them.

Dude, you've been "looking" for about 3 months now, right? I bet your wife is stunning, if you've taken this long deciding over a car....
Can you all say "Swedish Bikini Team" ???? :Brow:

That’s to funny Stevy….  Well it’s actually only two months so far. If I desperately needed a car I would of course had got one a long time ago. There’s a Volkswagen Passat as well as a very nice Buick in this household too even if the last one has an insurance that don’t allow to commute to work .
Good deals are a combination of opportunity and patience, hell you should know that Steve…:D I thought you were a business man ;) :D

Seriously, I think we have little different culture than you guys regarding transportation. I know from my colleagues in the US how dependent they are on their cars compared to us. If you live in Europe and you’re not too far out on the countryside you can manage pretty good getting around by bus, train or bicycle. You are of course less flexible and also less comfortable but it’s doable, at least for a day or two in a week. Not only the gas prices are higher here, it’s also more expensive to buy a new car with taxes etc.
