Since 2 weeks we have warmer weather in Germany and I had time to work at my car. I added 2 gauges: water temperature and oil pressure. I took the temp. gauge with °C and the pressure with PSI. The pressure comes mechanical with a tube to the gauge because I wanted to have the more exact pressure.
I had no problem with installing the gauges and they are working as they should do. And they look good – they are from AUTOMETER. To ensure still to get the warning lamp function I installed a T-adapter.

My temperature didn´t go over 95°C up to now. I reached this temp. while sitting still for 20 min. in traffic on the highway back home last weekend after a 450 miles trip. Outside temp. was around 76°F (24,5°C). When driving at 70 to 80 m/h (110 – 130 km/h) it had around 85°C only. So the engine cooling system of Adams former car seems to be in top condition.

Per, hope you will find an easy way to get the temp. down in your engine also !

Regarding the oil (and its pressure) I started a new thread where I will inform about my experiences with my oil additive test which I started at May, 1. ! : http://www.buickcenturion.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6048#post6048

Thanks for sharing this info Rolf, now I have another one to compare with.
Your installation looks good, I’m sure you did a thorough job on it!

That steering wheel cost me $200 at Batavia in 2005! I really liked it, though :)

Rolf's cooling system is about as good as it gets. There is a BIG 4 core radiator in there I installed. Also, the aluminum intake manifold helps a little bit. There is a 160*F thermostat installed.

When I would drive it in the cold temps, I could never get the car above 150*. I have the same condition with my current car.

Thanks, boys, for your kind words.

Sorry for you, Per, that you have these problems with your cooling system; hope you will find an easy and cheap solution !

Special thanks, Adam, for your info. regarding the thermostat. :xyxthumbs:

BTW: I also like this blue rally-steering-wheel very much; thank you, Adam, for selling it together with the car ! It´s perfect for this car with the blue interior.:beers:
