i'm the proud owner of a 1973 Buick Centurion convertible in Colonial Yellow a terrific original American Classic automobile.
I purchased this car in January of 1991 with Approximately 73,500 Miles on it and 18 years later it has 78,915 miles on it. As you can see it has seen limited use and I have always kept this car covered inside the garage. This car had one pervious owner who ordered the car new from Reese Motors Corp. 410 Jericho turnpike Mineola, N.Y. on November 18th 1972. He took delivery of the car on January 6th 1973 and paid $5,135.30 for the car. The window sticker is included and the price on that is $5,555.05. He kept incredible records and care of the car. The car has a large folder of original receipts for repairs, oil changes, window sticker, original sales order (car ordered on 11/18/72) owners manual, consumer information guide, accessories brochure, maintenance schedule, emissions control systems information & warranty, an instruction tag about starting a cold & warm engine, A ventilation tag, the new vehicle warranty and policy on owner service (this items has original owners name and VIN typed in), The original dealer brochure – which happens to have similar car as the center fold, the Buick Press Release from September 13, 1972.
The car has the following options: High Performance 455 cubic inch engine (260 Horsepower) with a 4 barrel carburetor, turbo 400 transmission & dual exhaust – (Based on the Press release info I wonder if this is to be the same engine as the Riviera GS Stage I motor), AM Radio, Performance axel, Positive traction differential, Automatic level control, heavy duty wheel (which currently are not on the car, painted Buick road wheels are on the car now) come), Heavy duty cooling system, power windows, 6 way power drivers seat, & tilt steering wheel..
This is an un-restored original car. Buick made 5,739 of these in 1973. This car is truly a pleasure to drive and cruise in, the car is in terrific condition and the condition is consistent though out the entire car as can be seen in the pictures. This is a numbers matching car. The interior has no rips or tears, the truck is immaculate, and the body is very nice with some blemishes. This is the type of car that can be taken to the AACA Hershey show and put in the historic preservation class with a lot of pride. When I purchased the car in 1991 the original vinyl boot had never been put on the car, it was sitting in it’s protective plastic cover, I was the first to put it on. The car even has the original water pump on it.
