I know of two of us that will for sure be there. Possibly three...

I know of a certain 72 dour door that lives not too far off from there.;)

I will be racing and showing my coupe in the Concours class.

We haven't gotten any other information yet, except the actual venue:

Well then,
Since the Skylark project is going to take longer than anticipated, and I have a wicked rear main oil leak in the Centurion,I guess I will have to drop that new 464 motor with the ported iron 67 430 heads into the Centurion. It pains me to that motor sitting in the corner & getting dusty!:D

That's what I like to hear...

I hope you have a good trans and convertor behind that powerplant.

Those interested in attending, please visit www.buickperformancegroup.com (http://www.buickperformancegroup.com) and www.bpgforums.com (http://www.bpgforums.com)

We are getting close to releasing hotel information. We've been saying that for weeks now, but we want to make sure everything is right.

Adam,

Me and my buddy Srecko went last year and this year he is bringing his 1973 Buick Centurion Convertible 455. It was a frame on restoration of black exterior, black top, and white interior. I would almost say for certain he'll have that car there and if I find a Centurion by then, I will bring mine.

I do believe there is another 72 somewhere near the Columbus area as well:D

There is a show during the race event! ...and an excellent chance to see what looks to be a good showing of C's.

I may be entering my car into the concours class for the show.

...and you forget about another one northwest of Columbus, one with a folding top:D . And I have at least 4 drivers in my household this year!

..so it DOES exist...:D

Well, it's by no means a show car. Original paint, interior, non detailed engine, etc. Just a driver with flaws. But I can throw 3 kids and the puppy in it, go to Dairy Queen and not worry (too much) about things. And with a 2.93 peg leg, she ain't no drag racer!

Count me in, I will be there in my 73 convt 455, just get me some hotel info so the Centurion Nation can all get together!

To much of my dismay, I will not be attending the BPG Nationals. Just got back from CATASTROPHE DUTY in Wisconsin and up to my eyeballs in paperwork.

Srecko has a birthday party set up for his 2 daughters on Saturday so thats out.

The Centurion looks to be leaking a little rear end fluid, so I am alittle concerned on taking a 7 hour trek to Columus Sunday.

There is always next year.

Hope all you guys have fun.

Throwing up? Ron Mooney threw up today. I threw up on Wednesday night:laugh:

Nothing posted yet, really. I don't have any pictures myself, either.

I bought a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials and ran the car a few times today. It was HOT out there. I ran a best of 14.31 so far. I think we can squeak out a 13 if the planets align.

EEE
08-04-2007, 12:22 AM
14.31 ... most impressive.. You know we need the full data of '60, ET, MPH so we can "up" you in the v8buick boats down the track section. Threw up Wednesday, also most impressive.. How are the radials?

Smartin
08-04-2007, 06:32 AM
The drag radials are nice and sticky....no whel spin at all on launch. So I can just mash the gas and go.

The event was rained out today, so no Sunday racing. I did manage a 14.25 yesterday evening, but it never got better than that.

I packed up and came home this afternoon, since everyone bailed when it started raining. I was supposed to stay in Columbus overnight. The hotel was a ghost town when I went back to pack my bags.

U think headers would have put you in the 13's?

Smartin
08-06-2007, 09:18 AM
Definitely...

EEE
08-06-2007, 10:31 AM
Which headers will you get?

Smartin
08-06-2007, 10:34 AM
I don't think I'll be putting headers on this car. It's way too nice for me to be really modifying it (visually) that way.

I will start looking for another car to beat on. I'm not sure whether it will be a big car, or a Skylark, but it'll be my go-fast car.

EEE
08-06-2007, 10:46 AM
I guess if you are only looking to go fast, then a small car would be the ticket.

Smartin
08-06-2007, 10:49 AM
..or a completely stripped out LeSabre sedan...

EEE
08-06-2007, 10:54 AM
ha ha.. it struck my mind too, but since you can't mention that kind of destructive modification business out loud I kept my mouth shut. Good thing you said it.

Smartin
08-06-2007, 10:59 AM
I suppose it wouldn't be an issue, as long as the car wasn't a 40k mile original cream puff. My old green car would've made a good race car. Low options, and banged up with hail damage, a bit of rust....mmmmm...blown big block

EEE
08-06-2007, 11:12 AM
I guess building an engine from scratch would be nice, but it would also run alot of $$$$.. Yep, the hail damaged car with some rust would have been a good candidate. I'm sure you'll find another LeSabre that isn't perfect, maybe a crap Centurion would be even better, so the 455 comes with the package.

The gutting sure would be fun.... :)
