While searching through old photos for pics of the 73 I used to own, I came accross a few pics of Buicks I used to own. Thought somebody might enjoy seeing them. The 59 is for you Brian!

Randy, you've certainly had some great Buicks along the way! Do I remember correctly that you also had a very nice '72 Riviera at one time?

Thanks so much for the photo of your '59 Electra. I believe that Rich Gibbs had previously shared a photo of your car at buick-59.com. Looks like this car was in excellent condition. From the photo, the car appears to be "Sierra Spruce". Surprisingly, among the many active members at buick-59.com, there is not a single Sierra Spruce car among them. Every other color is represented.

Any idea what happened to this car? A fellow locally is currently negotiating on the purchase of a 24,000 mile '59 Invicta sedan (Turquoise) out of Cincinnati. I hope he buys it, since I'd enjoy being able to share the highway with that one on cruises.

Thanks Brian! You're right I had a 72 and a 73 Riviera. I've definitely had my share of nice Buicks. I've owned a lot of Fords too. Mostly Galaxies, Mustangs, and Thunderbirds from the 60's and 70's. I sold that 59 in 95 or 96 to a local guy. Rich Gibbs said he contacts him from time to time about restoration tips. I think he lives here in the area. I bought it from the original owner, in 94. It had over 300,000 miles on it, but it was in excellent running condition. Even the air worked. The original owner was meticulous. An engineer I think. If I ever see it again, I'll definitely try to buy it. I loved it.

Randy, I'd be excited to see you re-purchase that Sierra Spruce beauty -- just in time to join us for our big '59 Buick Golden Anniversary planned for the 2009 Colorado Springs BCA National Meet.

Randyhi randy! i love all those photos! im also a sort of closeted ford lover, especially 1968,1969,and 1971 ltds and xl. a few monthes ago in hemmings a burgundy 68 xl 390 convertible was for sale,it was a black bench seat car, with the front fender hash marks and a fact ory white lower body stripe with turbine wheel covers, it had 83,000 miles on it ,a brand new wh ite top, the paint was original and a little weak,it was essentially rust free. then the 69 lesabre popped up and the rest was history. the ford price was reduced twice ,the owner wanted 8,950$, which i thought was reasonable, i still wonder if i should have done it.i really like the hideaway look, and the t-bird look of the 71. i can be linch mobbed for talking like this, so back in the closet i go ,he,he!!!!!!!!oh,yeah, ialso have a 68 camaro rally sport coupe with hideways.

Thanks Phil! I love those cars too. I've had 67, 68, 69, and 70 Galaxie convertibles and fastbacks, and 71 and 72 LTD convertibles. I should send you some pictures sometime. I've also had every body style of T-Bird except the original 55-57.

Randy

P.S. My 68 was a maroon convertible with a black bench seat, and a white top!

Randy, did you sell the Riv convertible to a BCA member in St. Louis? Culus Jones has that car...and I believe he said he bought it off eBay and drove it home a few years ago.
