OUCH!

That's pretty pricey!! I guess I / we shouldn't complain about the $3.30 we're paying on the East Coast for a gallon of the supreme. Regular unleaded is $3.09, but we can't run that. Wow... $8.70 per gallon... :Blasting: Freaking OPEC and the Oil Companies are getting rich off of this stuff. And there isn't a shortage! Just dumb folks putting up with what these OPPORTUNIST tell us!!!

Oh yes, the gas price is really high in our days, but in Europe we had a rising price of the Euro also (picture 1) so that the gas price doubled from 1991 to 2008 (pic 2) while it tripled in the US (pic3).
On the other hand our taxes are much higher than in the US (pic 4), but taxes differ from state to state in the US as I learned when seeing the pic 6 ( to be seen in next post because there is a limit of 5 pics per post). Only if you compare the development of the gas price with the time a normal worker has to work for it seems to be still cheap enough (pic 5: working min of a German worker per Liter).

So everything is relative, but anyway – I hope someone will have a new idea which will bring the energy prices down again !

I was surprised to see the tax rate alternate so much between different states in the US!

Think Sweden has the same gas tax level as Germany, France and UK.

Read somewhere that difference in gas price within Europe is not over like 10-15%

Per, I also was very surprised to see such difference between the gas price taxes. I searched for a pic which shows the difference in Europe and found that there is a great difference also. From the Netherlands to Lettland (LV) itīs a difference of 37% ! But we (Germany and Sweden) are close together.;)
The listing is from 2006 but I guess the differences will not have been changed so much since then. (the pic shows the gas price in €/liter )
