I went to a dealership auction in southern Ohio in the early 1980s and there were probably a dozen or so of the various types of these bezels in a couple of boxes. I didn't buy them since they were not in any original boxes or packaging. Obviously, I made a huge mistake there!

I've seen ziggebock in some of my auctions too, I've probably sold him something at some point.

"edit", yep in Apr. of 06.

Adam, et al - As you all know, I needed these parts since day one! Well, I was lucky enough to find them recently and bought both a right and a left side bezel. I paid $25 for one and $35 for the other. If I had known you needed one Adam, I would have grabbed one a few weeks back for you. But, didn't know. (drives home my "Parts Wish List" I so desperately want for this group!!!) Anyway, the left sides are a little tougher to come by, but Keith is right, they do turn up. Next time I see one, I'll let you know. In fact, I'll grab it and then pass it on to you. They occasionally show up with the buy it now option.

That kind of money is just crazy. Stupid, not crazy.

I still have a few of these, mainly 73's I think. What are you guys after?

Adam,
Got the same one NOS from another seller on Ebay for $28.00 last month,
Kimson,
I am looking for a left side bezel for a 72 Convertible.

Nick - one of these just went up on eBay 7-10 days ago. It was for a ragtop... did you see it? I was a bit perturbed, b/c I had just bought mine the one posted seemed to be a little better shape. Not NOS, but damn close. I'll keep my eyes out. The convertibles ones are a bit tougher to find...

Nick - doesn't look to be in the best shape, but thought you might want to check it out...

ZERO BIDS, thus far... looks like it has a switch for a rear window defogger. My car was not optioned with that... Starting bid is only $9.99, so maybe you can steal it, clean it up and use as a bandaid till another comes along.

Good luck!
Steve

Those aren't the correct switches although they look like they'd operate just fine. For a 73 the switch is mostly black.

If you've got a convertible it would be good to stockpile a spare switch or two because they are getting hard to find and I'm pretty sure a rear window defogger switch won't work.

The switches can be opened and cleaned if needed, but getting it closed up properly and tightly is tricky.

That bezel is a 73 only bezel.

Adam is correct that is only for the 73 model. John is also correct regarding the switches. :xyxthumbs:

THANK YOU!!THANK YOU !! THANK YOU!!!! For posting this Steve. I definitely missed it. And this is exactly what I was hunting for. I have extra nos switches and have extra dash panels. What I need is that small bezel that has mounts both the defroster and cov top switches. When I re-do my top I have been planning on installing the glass rear window with the defogger option. This piece is the only thing left that I need to complete the parts list for this option.

Just letting you know guys I will be shooting for it :Brow: and I am pulling out all the stops on it.:Blasting:

THAT'S IT!!! I AM DOING MY DAMN PARTS WISH LIST IF IT'S THE LAST FREAKING THING I DO!!!!

We have to be able to help each other. Thankfully, I stumbled across this for you Rick. If I had known you were searching for this, it would have been a PM to you. (Nothing against the rest of you!!)

Nick needs a 72 left side bezel, not a 73. So he shouldn't be any competition to you. Best of luck bro. If it stays as is, you might steal it for the $9.99 it's listed at! :D

Rick, I'll keep my eyes out for you. (yeah, those big eyes!)

More on the parts wish list in another post.

I think this is a 74 bezel because of the one year only switches and the on/off markings on the vents although I think the bezel was used on some of the last built 73's.

Hey Steve,

Why don’t start a thread called “Parts wanted/Parts for sale” ?

In post #1 you put a template like the one below for the board members to copy. Then can anyone that need parts or have parts for sale open their own post that they thereafter update/maintain by using the edit function.

We aren’t that many (yet) so I think this can work just fine

Parts wanted
Part a
Part b
Part c

Parts for sale
Part a
Part b
Part c

Guys, that's why I made a "Parts Wanted" and a "Parts for Sale" forum.

Much easier to browse the thread titles than to scroll through one HUGE thread to see what people want or need.

What if I, and yes, I'll track this....... started a spread sheet that would list your name, contact info and your top 3-5 parts wish list??? I would then distribute to everyone that's participating so you'd have your own copy??
Is that a nightmare? I've designed a spreadsheet that's easy to use and follow. And we're talking about what, 20+ guys using it? I don't think it would be too much to track. Then as updates are made, I'd just blast a new list out. I have a spread sheet ready to go if anyone wants to see it...
If this isn't worth the trouble, then we'll stop it here. Just trying to make it easier to help each other...

I think I scored a good one. While I was stumbling about waiting for the defogger switch auction to wind down I found this one.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120223673646

Brand F'ing New! Never installed! Factory Buick am/8-Track radio along with all the instuctions sheets and brackets, everything, from Buick. New Old Stock!! I was the only bidder!!! Got it for the starting bid of $150.

I doubled checked the numbers and it is good for '74 models and it was offered for the '73 model year under D2 option code. I tried searching for photos but the part seems to be the same for the '73. If it turns out it was the wrong year so be it. I was running out of time, so for the condition and price I had to go for it.

I have a factory am/fm 8-track that needs to have the 8-track rebuilt. I was getting prices in excess of $400. I figure I got two choices, use the new one for parts to repair the am/fm 8-track or just install the new am/8-track and hook up a seperate hidden fm radio under the seat or something. I do have a ton of 8-tracks on hand though.

Sh1t now I can't sleep!!!
