Hello all. Well, i do not own a Centurion but im looking for the one my dad bought new in 73. Its green convert with the 455. I remeber also it had fiberglass covers when the top was down.

My dad sold it in the eairly 80's to my uncle in Crestwood, ill. When i got into my 20s in the 90's i asked my uncle were the car is and he said he sold it to a guy and doesnt know were it is anymore. This uncle of mine we dont talk to much, so i dont know if he will give me any info anyway. I loved that car and i remember being promised that car, but my dad needed money to finish the house he remodled.

Well, im glad i found this site and hope to have one in the next year or so.

Welcome:xyxthumbs: If you can locate the VIn on the car maybe from some old paperwork, that may be able to track it.

With mine I found out the original owner was a father of a guy I went to high school with. They bought it new in '73, it was garaged all it's life, he smoked, so that explained the burned center armrest and different bottom back seat, they had a small interior fire from ashes. I had since re-done the interior.

The father past away in 1981 and the family kept the car in the house garage in storage. Wasn't till 1996 they had some light construction work done on their home, they gave the car to the contractor as part of payment. The contractor never registered the car and just parked it....under a few pine trees:tonge2: until 1996 when a very large part of a tree fell on it crushing the top just behind the windshield pillers. Thats when the same contractor while doing work on my parents house notice my GS455 in their garage. He mentioned to them he had a "Big old Buick convertible" that he wanted to get rid of. My father told me (I repeated: "big old Buick...convertible?!?!) I got there asap. Saw the car, it was extremely solid except for all the leaves, mice, and crushed top. I asked him how much? He said he had $300 into it, that's all he wants. I paid him, squeezed myself into the car (remember convertible roof was crushed), with a fresh battery in it, the darn thing fired up! Drove it out of there for a 3 mile drive to my parents house, dry rotted tires, mice, spiders, ants and leaves and all. It still had the 1981 registration & inspection stickers on it! The rest is history.

Wasn't until 2004 I ran into the original owners son. He came to see the car, damn near cried. He was extremely happy to see it and that it survived the times. He always knew I was into Buicks from high school. He never offered to buy, he was just extremely happy it found a good home.

Point I'm making is track down your uncle and maybe, just maybe you may get some leads on your old Centurion. You never know, being your family was the original owners.

Again welcome to the board and sorry for the long post.
