Since I bought a centurion conv 1973 (but havenīt received it yet) I thought I should check if it really fits in my garage:)
I looked here at this site and found an old article with all specs.
It says; overall width is 79.7 inch.

I have about 80 inch wide garage-opening:shocked:

Do anyone know if 79.7 inches includes the mirrors? I will have to either buy a lot of grease or change the garage-door...

On the other hand, I always wanted a 2 car garage so perhaps its time to build a new garage?

I think your gunna need a bigger...garage:(

My Centurion is in a sealed winter storage bag so I cannot go and actually measure it. Whe I do put in in my house garage is just BEARLY fits width wise. I just went down and measured the garage opening and it's 94". I would guesstimate that I have about 3 or so inches from each side mirror to the garage molding. So maybe it's somewhere around 86 inches (mirror to mirror) wide maybe?

The Swedish car inspection measured my car to 2020 mm (79,5’) and I’m pretty sure that was without the mirror.
My garage-opening is 2300 mm (90’) which works fine even if it feels a bit narrow when you enter the car sometimes.

I have a drive way which is 90 wide with a house on one side and a brick wall on the other. You have to be 100% concentrated for the 50 feet drive.

Damn Kimson, especially if you have to back up!

Micke- these guys are dead on. Needs to be about 88 to 90 inches to allow for mirrors. Depends if you have 1 or 2 mirrors.

Which reminds me Rick. I may have a problem with my width, once I add the right side mirror. Wouldn't that just be a bitch! :Dou: All that trouble to get a "correct" right side mirror, and now it may not fit in the garage! Man, that would just frost my mug!!!

Thanks Micke, you just ruined my New Year! <---- Joke!

Steve, that's why they make chain saws:laugh: Time to remove that garage molding or better yet, with me I would let my wife back the van out from inside the garage, that should take care of any widening of the garage opening:shocked:

Usually standard house garage door openings are 8 feet wide, then you have the moldings and trim which may take up collectively another 2-4 inches. My door openings are 8 feet, but the actual opening with moldings closes the opening to 7 feet and 8 1/2 inches. Like I said, with my Centurion when I have it in the house garage it just barely fits with about 1-2 inches on each side. And I have both mirrors attached. With my garage it is just the opening, once its past the doorway there is plenty of room. FORGET about backing it in, would never try it.

You can always get creative and pull the car halfway inside and measure where the mirrors would hit. Then trim out the opening so you have the room. Actually that is what I would do if the car stays inside that one garage bay. I am sure a trip to a Home Depot or local lumber yard for supplies, and you can widen that section of the door opening making it look nice.

Oh one last thought, my old house was built in 1956 it had a one car garage that was 7 feet wide! I ended up sawing thru the cinder block foundation which was 5 feet high taking a foot off it, and reblocking the edging, making the doorway to 8 feet wide. Took some time but came out nice and even was a plus $$ when I sold the house. Our new house requirement was a two car garage, large driveway, which we found...plus this one had it heated:Brow:

It doesnīt seem better than I will have to change the garage-door. I have looked and it would work to have it about 90 inches wide. I have this old unsafe garagedoor anyway with a huge sprint that often causes bad accidents (even death) when it come loose...
