Hi there,
Iīm new in this forum and Iīm searching for a centurion. Lately I spend several ours daily to track down ads on the internet. I think I will go for a 2dr but I understand that theres a difference between 1971/72 and the 73 models?
Some are called formal coupes and some just 2dr? I donīt remember where I read it but the writer said itīs a difference at back-window? I donīt see it!
Does anyone have pictures who could share this with me?
Any other parts thatīa mayor difference (except 350 or 455 engine) and that I should have in mind when looking at cars?
Thanks
Mikael

Added a few minutes later:
For pictures, go to the http://www.buickcenturion.com/
In the middle at left you find three links (1971, 1972 1973) that takes you to the cars in the registry.

Mikael, if you read completely through the text and view the photos in this post, it will help to explain the difference between the '71/'72 Formal Coupe and the '73 2-door hardtop.

The Formal Coupe actually had a smaller rear window than the '73 2-door hardtop, as well as a standard vinyl roof covering.

Now I see the difference, itīs easier when you have pictures to study..

I will go for a Formal Coupe I think. Can anyone give me a hint of the pricerange for a Formal Coupe? Should they cost more than a convertible?

I guess they are cheaper because many more coupe's were build. On the other side, now I only find more ragtops on the internet for sale and also in the register so I guess many coupe's are on the junkyard. Prices for the convertible are higher right now. I don't have the magazine here were the prices are in. i think you can buy a good coupe for 6000 dollar?
