This one I had to go and see if my car was still there. Its the same color combo as my Centurion and its also optioned out. Check it out, it seems like a decent car.

Hi Rick
I saw this on Ebay too.
Love the color combination.;)
This one has the auto temp air conditioner. I haven't seen many with that option.
The ad says the boot is missing. But that is a minor detail.
I wish this were closer to home, I'd love to check it out.

That beautiful and option loaded car was not sold; no bidding higher than $5150 ! - Why ???
I expected it would go up far over $10000.

Too late in the year to buy a Convertible ? Rust at the rear fender ? The gas price ? The subprime credit crisis ?

Good eye Keith. I had to go back and take some closer looks. I missed spotting those rear snow tires!!! Well, the snow tires and with no boot, there is a strong possibiliy that this car is driven during those cold, road salted winters!! Which would make me want to take a real close look under the car and the rear wells.

I did notice also the shot with the top going up, the top is not straight. Goes up like mine, which is because only recently the bolt that holds the top to the body of my Centurion broke free. Prior to the bolt mount breaking my top went up evenly. This is something I have to fix this coming year, I need some welding to be done. No doubt it will run some money as I will also be re-doing the entire top installing the rear factory defroster glass. (another added option:Brow: )

As for the paint, the car in the ad has definitely been repainted as the trunk floor shows the color over spray. Wrong move on the selling saying it only shows 40,000 miles, assuming that is all it has. Well mine says 21,000 and that's only because I changed the dash (added options) as my Centurion has long been over 100,000, but in my case the entire drive trains has been rebuilt/replaced.

Over all with the issues it seems to have I also thought maybe about 7 grand or so for the car unless there are other unseen issues. It may be that the winter season plays a huge factor too. Just try and sell a motocycle now in late fall early winter, you won't get as much as in the spring or summer time. I wonder if they will re-list it in the spring.

Thanks, Keith and Rick, for teaching me ! It was very interesting to follow your thoughts by looking to the car´s pictures again. I´ve seen the rust at the rear fender before but not all the other little signs. You are really specialists ! Next time I´ll look closer to all showed pictures.

When I first saw the low price for that nice car I got the idea to call the dealer and buy it for Germany; I thought that car could make a good deal here in spring. But then it seemed to be too great a risk, I had a bad feeling in a indescribable way - the differance of my expected price and the last bidding was too great ... - and so I decided not to do that. Now I´m glad that I´ve got your lessons which confirmed my feeling. There remains a lot to learn ... !

Thanks again you both !

$11,750!!!! Like I said, maybe around 7 grand as I see from the add. For 11 grand I would definitely check this over with a ton of questions, even then...:confused4:

But on the flip side if it goes for 11 grand...? Just think what our Centurions will fetch. Not that I will be selling, but just to figure on raising the insurance value.

Like to keep an eye on this one, personally I don't think he will get it especially this time of the year. You know I wonder if someone throws a 7 grand bid on it if the guy would eventually sell.

Adam aren't you in the St. Louis area? It would be cool to have someone inspect this car in person.

It's in Fenton, which is about 40 miles from me. The car looks like a POS in the pictures.

I can put someone in touch with a guy that works down the road from MotoExotica if they want to have it inspected.

Um Hmmm ! Yep ! If Thats What That Car Fetched, How Could You Not Think Our Cars Are Worth Triple That, Well Maybe Not Triple , But Clo0se, I Pity The Poor Guy Who Bought It Sight Unseen. 6,600 With Rust! Keiths Right , But Not Only Was The Seller Smoking Something, But The Buyer Was Inhaling It As Well.

After the auction ended I checked the winning bidder's feedback.
In the last few months he's bought a gorgeous Rivera and a Firebird (Trans Am I think). So the winner has been shelling out some big bucks on cars.
I have a feeling this was going out of the U.S.

and mine is unrestored, if you have an expensive restoration which i am sure you do.some companies will value it according to restoration costs providing you have a licensed appraisal outlining the restoration , and have all of your reciepts to prove factual. phil

I also use Hagerty. In fact I sell Hagerty... :Brow: Very good company to deal with! Fair and honest in how they value your car and how they settle claims. Plus, they are VERY reasonable in the premiums they charge. Need to check on my value. I think they have me around $17,000. Renewal is coming up though, so perhaps they will increase?

What a great picture!

Let me research this a little with Hagerty Rick. I want to give you definite answers, not guesses.
Why do you have the car insured with Hagerty if you're only running with liability?!?! :confused4: Hagerty is designed to insure a car to it's value. You're not doing that with Hagerty. If you're not going to run it with full coverage, then you should just add it to your basic car policy. That would solve the potential tow problem issue.
That's got me a little baffled. (Keith has a good point too, but let me knock out Hagerty first and then we can go from there...)

Also, I think we should cut and paste this into a thread someplace else, as the topic is a little off for ebay parts and cars.... We have several things to talk about, so if you start a thread, I'll find it tomorrow with answers to post.

And lastly.... WHY THE HELL ARE YOU RUNNING WITH LIABILITY ONLY!?!?! :spank: :Blasting: :spank: :Blasting: :spank:
Dude, you gotta know better than that! Look what happend to Kimson!!!
Your ride is worth way to much to take that chance!! :spank:
I'm going to have to talk some sense into that thick head of yours! :rooleyes2:
