Ordered one today. I see you found pretty cars for every month. I thought the picture of the rust holes in my floor had a real "February" look to them. I hope to get some pretty pictures to send in for next year.

Thanks for putting this together, It will be fun to have that at work for those 2 minute imagination vacations.

Got mine today, GREAT job Adam. Also got some of the Centurion buttons and I do not even own a Centurion.
After being one of the lurker/lookers on this forum this was enough to make me put in my 2 cents worth.

Yo Steve,
Here comes Post #2:

The Centurion calendars (all three of them) arrived today, and they are truly superb! Thanks to all for submitting your great photos of these beautiful cars.
Adam, I'll be sending one of them to Gary Klecka, who will certainly appreciate all the Centurions. And it'll be fun for him to see Rolf's convertible, which Gary will remember very well from the Wingate Hotel parking lot in Flint.
(Speaking of our meeting at the Wingate Hotel in Flint, it looks like one of your black-and-white shots of my '59 will be selected for the 2008 1959 Buick calendar. I'll keep you posted.)

Adam, is it the original paint on your copper car? Or has it been repainted sometime during the years?
All the cars look great in the calendar but the shine in your paint really is something extra.....
Smartin
11-30-2007, 07:05 AM
The paint is original on the whole car above the paint stripe. A couple years ago, the middle section of the car was repainted to get rid of door dings and some scratches. But the photo in the calendar is BEFORE I buffed it out. It shines like glass now!
MichelHaak
11-30-2007, 10:59 AM
buffing in english is just like polishing?
Smartin
11-30-2007, 06:41 PM
Similar..
I used 2000 grit sandpaper on the whole car, and then buffed it to a shine. I then polished it with a swirl mark remover...and then waxed it.

I wish you were living closer so that I could learn your method of doing this
..
Quite amazing that the quality on the original paint is as good as it seems to be on our cars. Apart from the front fenders, my car has never been repainted either. I have so far only polished my car down to the bodyside molding. Next summer I will work with the rest filling in dings and scratches and waxing it up.
I typically never seem to have so much time for my Centurion as I would have liked to having two other cars and a house to maintain as well

My package got lost ! :( I ordered the calendar together with 2 Centurion mini buttons at Nov., 6th, but up to now the package has not arrived.
I contacted with Cafe Press Com and now they sent me a second package; I hope it will come through the mail storm during these weeks ! Perhaps itīs a problem with those buttons ? I donīt know and they ensured me that this could not cause the lost. We will see whether it will arrive - should come around Christmas.

Hey Rolf, I ordered a button too and trust me, it wouldn't cause the package to be delayed. I have an extra calendar that I bought as a spare. Really no idea why I bought an extra but I did... :rooleyes2: Got caught up in the excitement. ( I have three) One for my office, on for the house and one for the hell of it... anyway, if you hung up again, let me know and I'll send it to you.
Merry Christmas gang!

Oh, big Thanks, Steve, but I donīt really think thatīs a series; so Iīm optimistic that it will arrive in Germany as it arrived in Sweden (Per) and the Netherlands (Michel) ! The hell will know which way my first package went but I donīt want to go there asking the devil ;) , so letīs wait - itīs Christmas time, it will arrive:rolleyes: !!

Thanks heaven, the package arrived today - the FIRST one !!! I would have bet on that it was lost but with todays post it came in - 6 weeks after mailed by Cafe Press Com !
They sent me a second one - as I told here - as a replacement which should arrive around Christmas; so I will have 2 calendars and 4 buttons because they told me if the first package would arrive later I need not send back the second one but keep it as their way of apologizing for the delay. :)
Okay, so now I will give the second calendar to a good friend who is interested in US cars in general. And the 2 more buttons I will give to Per and Michel when meeting them sometime somewhere in Europe.;)
To the calendar I can not say anything because my wife took it away for Christmas evening - she only let me see the envelope that I was ensured that it really came in today ! So I again have to wait ... !:rooleyes2:

On Christmas evening I got my calendar in my hands and itīs really a very good one - strong paper of good quality with fine printed pictures !
Only 2 cars could come out better in my opinion : Randyīs Febuary car seems to be white instead of bamboo cream and Bobīs September car is a bit dark at its rear, but both are as nice pics as the others. Michelīs car is to be seen as clearly as I never saw it before - first time that I noticed its pinstripe! When I looked for Centurions until now I prefered the convertibles, but now I got the impression that those 2 and 4 door hardtops are very nice alternatives also. Especially the dark green colour makes them looking very elegant while the lighter colours give the cars a more sporty look. So every car in this calendar is a gem of its own.
And when looking to the photos Iīm remembered to the owner and the story behind it. So Keithīs car remembers me to his former red one also; Kimsonīs runner let me feel some sadness b/c itīs burned away; Rickīs brings back the picture of his winter garage and the story of its restauration; when seeing Steveīs black beauty Iīm smiling about his super enthusiasm and hearing his ".. get out, gas her up and let the wind rush through your hair..." and so on. For me this is not only a calendar but a speaking story book. I love it and Iīm sure it will enjoy me the whole year of 2008 - perhaps even longer !! Hope itīs the same with everyone who owns that paper now !
Thanks, Adam, for your idea to create such a calendar and for your work in cutting out the best views and thanks to everyone sending him your best pictures !:xyxthumbs:
Happy New Year with your Centurions !

Rolf, you are great! Thanks for going down memory lane with us. I laughed out loud on a few of your comments, simply because I was remembering too! The friendships that have been made here are pretty cool considering most of us have never met. I appreciate your words. And I love the fact that your lovely bride wouldn't let you see the calendar until Christmas! That still makes me smile. GOOD FOR HER!!
Happy New Year my friends....

I noticed that, Keith, you reached what you wanted (!) and first I thought to write that this pic has a wonderful appearance but then hesitated b/c I didnīt want to coment the pics too extensive.
The way you did it - with those several reflexes of the light on the glass and on the paint - makes it very interesting; it comes more out in 3 dimensons than in other photographs. So itīs a very good picture, really - only itīs a little bit dark on the right side in the back part under the tree. Iīm sure thatīs only b/c itīs a print; I guess printed as an original photo it will be much better. Anyway - a nice picture, Keith ! Congatulations !

Added: BTW, I guess itīs the same reason with the nearly white appearance of Randyīs car - when printing photographs they mostly use an average adjustment for all pictures, they donīt adjust every pic seperately.
