Your resident 72 4 door guy didn't know whether to cry or start throwing things! This looked like it had been a nicely maintained original car until this guy got his hands on it. For a Centurion, it is very basic -- no vinyl roof, no accessory group and the very rare radio delete. Of the 19,852 72 4 door hardtops built only 18 were radio delete. Like you said, Adam. poor car....

Offer him $1500 and "let him keep" the 23's.

Decent car needing some TLC...

Just found another one...... a beauty!! Seller said it has every option, but it has a 350, so it doesn't have every option... Stunning car.

I'm sure I had bicycles with shorter wheels. I should have saved the wire wheels and slicks off my Schwinn Stingrays. I'd be stylin'!

Reserve not met....

at $510:laugh:

I put in a bid a couple days ago, just for hoots. But I wonder how hard it would be to remove all the LOUD lettering & numbers.:coffee:

Even though they are my thing, 4 doors are not that marketable. He'd never get the price he wants but if all that lettering was removed and the road wheels were installed, I think he'd do better. The car really looked like it had been a pretty nice although lowly optioned car before the custom touches were added.

Well, he ALMOST made it worth a damn. When he pulled off the decals on the passenger side, the paint came with it!!

what do you think this car is worth? Would love to have this boat as a daily driver.

Hi, i am kinda new....... why is the 350 less valuable? For a daily driver i would preffer more a 350 to the 455.

Welcome aboard!!:xyxthumbs:

Rarity. The 455 is more desirable as it was an engine option in the 1973 Centurion. Or the same reason why a 440 or a Hemi is more desirable than a 318 or a slant 6. Or better yet the same reason why we all want cable internet hook up compared to dial up.

As for a daily driver? I would have to agree a 350 could be better or easier to find if you are looking for a "daily driver" plus you wouldn't mind beating on the engine a bit as it is more common. As for gas mileage I would bet they both get you the same mpg. My 73 Centurion with a 455 gives me 17 mpg on the highway with the ac going. A 350 with less hp would have to work a bit harder than a 455 pushing around 2 tons of Buick steel. But as which is more common I would say the 350 powered Centurion, which was ONLY available in the 1973 model as the standard engine. And Buick made about a billion of them in 73. Unfortunately most are long gone made into Hondas and Toyotas.

As for finding a 350 in the 71 & 72 models, won't happen. They only came with the 455.
