Hey guys, I was called last week by the Mayor of my great small town... he'd like me to drive him in the Halloween Parade on Oct 28th. I said yes! :D
Really excited by this, especially since he sought me out for it! :xyxthumbs:
However, I've never done the parade thing. I'd love some help from those of you who have ventured into this area. ie: does he sit on the seat back?
Someone told me never to let anyone sit on the parade boot as it's not strong enough to hold a 200lbs man. (I can't remember which one of you posted that, but I remember it!) Had a nice picture of a local beauty queen sitting on it!! Just my luck, I get a man, he got a cutie..... My parade boot is not painted black yet. (Red) However, I may spray it quickly and cover it with a blanket if that's where I should allow him to sit. Or I'll run it over to a buddies have him move it up the line in front of someone to get it done professionally. Otherwise I have the typical black vinyl cover.
Anyway, will take whatever advice and input you all have to offer.
Thanks in advance! :beers:

Steve

Check out this thread, it should point you in the right direction. I am not certain but I think it was mentioned that a board was placed under the boot to help support it. Check with Keith he's used his for parades.

Keith Bleakney has a good post on that thread he's the guy to talk to.

Great picture Keith! That convertible of yours sure is a looker...
That fire flame orange color was popular on the Volvos here during 73-74, not really the same thing though

That's right it was you Keith. Damn, I am getting old, can't remember squat anymore! So, what you're suggesting is to just have them sit in the back seat... If I get the time, perhaps I can build the "platform" you spoke of? any chance you have a picture of it? I have a buddy who is an interior repair specialist. (he goes to all the local dealerships to renew and repair interiors)
I am sure he can help me build something....
You guys are way cool! :beers:
This forum is a life saver Adam. Thanks for doing it and thanks to you all that contribute so much to it.

Anyone else have any input on this?

By the way, it's 74 degrees today. Drove the drop top and took a nice long lunch just to cruise!!!
