I am trying to get more information on a 1973 Buick Centurian convertible. It has 140,000 miles but is in great shape with new red paint job, redone interior and a new top all done last Summer. Don't think much has been done to the engine except for a brand new 4barrel sitting on top of a 455.

How can I find more about this car. I have the VIN but Car Fax only goes back to 1981 so what's the trick? What should I be looking for and any idea what a fair price to offer would be?

VIN: 4P67U3X185385

The 5th digit U, signifies the standard 455 with dual exhaust.

Thanks for the info...yes it has dual exhaust. So no way to look up histories on these "classic" cars?

Body looks real good (straight and no bondo). Had some body work on the right side and maybe had the passenger door replaced. Anyhow was looking to get some history on the car and I found this board while looking.

I don't think there is a real effective way of getting a history on a car this old, unless you bribe the DMV clerk for past records of where the car was last titled.
