This is, truly, a stunning automobile that is in beautiful, original condition.

When I looked carefully at this car at the 1986 Buick National Meet at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, one of the biggest surprises was the absence of even a remote control outside rearview mirror.

I found it odd then, and still do, that this car lacks the bright, Centurion-only moldings above the taillamps. I did not speak with Potteroff directly about this, but pointed it out to his wife. She assured me that the car had never been damaged in the rear, so, if that is indeed the case, then the car reflects a mistake made at the assembly plant. You can see the omission by looking at the photos on the Ebay auction.

Other than bumper guards, protective side moldings, door edge guards, the chrome-plated road wheels, automatic transmission (made standard during the model year), and rear seat handy mats -- I see no other options.

I neglected this car's radio option. Based on what I can see, it appears to be the AM Sonomatic.

I believe that this car is listed in the Centurion Registry, so I should go back and look at the details that Bob documented regarding this car.

This car, or one very much like it, was for sale at a dealership in Sarasota, FL (I think), for some months last year. They also had a lighter-green one, maybe a `72, at the same time, for which they were asking more $. One of the two had an asking price of $14-15k. I was interested in it until I figured out that it did not have a/c. As an old, broken down, fat man, I must have a/c, even with a convertible top!

It certainly is a nice one, perfect for someone in New England or the Pacific Northwest!:Brow:

$17k ....no sale. If they want $25k, they'll have it for a while.

As nice as this one is, Keith, I have to agree with you. If the guy bought the car as an investment or to try to make some bucks, he bought the wrong one. If he bought it to enjoy and keep, that was one thing but apparently that wasn't the intention and he probably will have it awhile unless he decides to be realistic. It's a great car but the lack of options will definitely hurt it no matter how nice it is.

I saw this car on the internet a couple years ago up in Belvidere, Il. It was being auctioned off by Meccan auctions I believe. It sold at that time for $16000.00 to that dealer down in Florida that Boscoe referred to. Nice car, but I have to agree with everyone about the options vs price. Still nice to see a unmolested original.
