Asking out there. Is there and if so where can I find an option code sheet listing available options for the '73 Centurion. Have a line on power remote driver side and passenger side mirrors, but will not get them if it was not correct for the 1973 model year. I have never seen or heard of them for the Centurions, just want to be sure. The mirrors appear identical in size and shape. BUT, cannot locate if it was an option for Buick in 1973. In the Buick Illustration Book it does illustrate a manual remote passenger side door mirror for 1974.
I have checked the:
Buick Illustration Book
Fisher Body Service Manual
Buick Chassis Manual
Buick Engineering Features 1973

Rick,
I’ve been thinking about getting me a passenger side mirror too for my 73. I was under the impression that this was a standard type of non-remote mirror for all fullsize GM cars of those years, like the one on the link below.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=008&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=180124689369&rd=1,1
Item number: 180124689369
Looking on the Sales sheet does not spread any light either about the passenger side mirror:confused: .
Hopefully someone else on the board have the answers.
I think Keith has a passenger side mirror on his orange convertible

In the illustration book (shown below) I only found it on the '74 model. The remote handle goes in place of the speed alert/odometer knob and the speed alert/trip odometer knob then gets mounted under the dash as shown. It may be that '74 was the first year for this option, as for the power remote mirrors I am starting to think it just wasn't available to the Buicks, maybe it was an option for the Olds 88 instead. Still though I would like to make sure on things.

Rick, the Centurion Registry itself at www.buickcenturion.com has all the option code information. Click the link for registering your Centurion, and scroll down. You will see that Adam has actually posted a .jpg file of the original new car order form for each year of Centurion production.
Please bear in mind, however, that this sheet will list only factory-installed equipment. There may have been dealer-installed accessories that are not listed here.

OK! Now I'm further confused. I looked up the option codes and there is an option named:
Code O2 - Remote Control Outside Rear View Mirror (1973 only).
1971-72 also have the same option under a different code.
QUESTION: What do they mean by it. It only states "mirror" that would be one not a pair. Outside would leave out the interior rear view mirror. Now is that the driver's side door mirror with the little control stick in the door panel?
:confused4:
I guess the bottom line is it doesn't state: Electric remote control mirror"
Also noticed the mini console is not listed as an option for the 73, yet I always see them.
:confused4:
Anyway bottom line is I will be passing on the power remote mirrors.

O5 in 71-72 was the option sales code for the DRIVERS side only remote mirror. They changed the code to O2 in 1972 for the same option.
There is no mention of the RH mirror in the sales order form. I believe this, and items like the mini console, were included in the accessories catalogs.

Rick,
I realize now I was a bit off the subject with my reply:o , sorry for messing up your thread.
Still wonder though, if the non-remote passenger side mirror on evilbay (Item number: 180124689369) is the correct one as an accessory or dealership option for a 73 Centurion, anyone?

Rick, Per and all the Centurion buddies, I hope this will be of help on the mirror issue. The factory installed only the LH remote as an option and Adam has provided the proper order codes for the 71-72 and 73s. The RH mirror, which is non remote and was designed to match the LH Remote, was first offered as a dealer accessory in 1971 and was accessory part number 981724. This is indeed the mirror you see on Keith's Flame Orange convert. This same mirror was offered through 1976. The LH Remote, which was also an option for those cars built without it, was shown as accessory part number 981726 for 1971 and 1972 but changed to 981919 for 1973 through 1976. I don't know what the difference(s) would have been between the two versions but these are the numbers shown in the dealer accessory parts lists. Since our Centurions stop with the 73 model year, these are the ONLY CORRECT PARTS AND NUMBERS FOR OUR VEHICLES. No power remote mirrors were shown through 1976. In 1974, a LH remote with a thermometer also became available and a passenger's side remote was also available for the first time. When you have accessory parts questions, feel free to contact me directly or through one of the threads on the site. I'll be more than happy to assist you in any way I can.

Bob - you are the man. Thank you! I'd love to get my hands on one for my 72. It drives me nuts not having it there...... anyway, another question came up in this thread that was mentioned a couple of times. Mini consoles?? What's that all about. Do any of you have a picture? I'd love to have a place to set a drink and thought about a PepBoys purchase, but just can't get myself to do this!
Any info would be appreciated!

Steve
I often see the mini consoles on e-bay, more so then the passenger side mirror. Unfortunately the prices sometimes get really stupidly high. You just have to be patient. I got mine at the Bicentenial Buick Meet at Flint. Paid $50 bucks, though that was back in 2003, it was perfect except it was black, (yep I know you want black). I ended up taking it apart and painting it to match the interior. Came out real nice too. Actually the mini console is designed to hold the 8-track tapes, and small items, it doesn't have any shape to hold drinks or food. I hope to be using mine for the 8-tracks once I get my factory 8-track am/fm rebuilt.
What I like to get my grubby fingers on is a copy of the dealer accessory book that Bob has. (under lock and key):D

There's a used one running on ebay right now, Steve, if you want to see what one looks like. It says it came out of a 74 Electra but it is the same item that we're discussing. Check out ebay item 280125959602.
