The car is spectacularly beautiful, Keith, and deserving of the recognition it received.
If we get a 2008 Centurion calendar, one of your photos from Norwalk deserves a page of honor!
Congratulations!

Thanks, Keith, for these nice pictures of your car.:xyxthumbs: IŽll print them for my big Centurion-photo-mosaic ! Hope that it will have enough pixels.
That car is a real dream - one of those like-new-cars - congratulations ! - (Guess the day that I could spray my car with new paint comes nearer ... ) !

Keith
Congrats again. It was great talking and seeing you again. Seeing Keith's Centurion in photos is nothing like seeing it up front for real. It is truely a beautiful car!
I entered late in the show as I was repairing my 70 GS (thats an other story:Dou: ) Got my Centurion in and scored a second place award. It was nice to see that the Centurions are finally getting noticed. Keith thanks again for the book :xyxthumbs: and congrats on your award!

Keith - that is terrific! Very happy for you... These land yachts are starting to get known! It's b/c of vehicles like yours and Ricks that make it possible! Congrat's to you as well Rick. You both represented us in a huge way!
One of these days, I'd love to hear what you do to prepare your cars for these shows. I've thought of entering, but don't think my ride it ready. It's gets the looks and praise, but shows are different. Anyway, we'll talk about that later....
CONGRAT'S TO YOU KEITH... and to you as well Rick!!!

Steve, I bet your car would do very well in the shows. It's black, sleek, and a convertible. A good detail job would put it over the top.

How about a huge showing at the BPG Buick Horsepower Nationals at Columbus. I know I will be there along with Nick Rabi and his '72 convert., along with Adams Centurion. Keith is on the fence, hopefully he will make it. So that may be 4, how about some more. The most at one event I ever saw were three. I would bet most guys on this board have show winning quality Centurions.

Would love to see something like out here on the East Coast. Love Columbus area (I'm a Nationwider), but I can't see myself driving this besat 8-9 hours to get there. Man, I'd love to though!!
Adam- thanks for the compliment, but I just don't know. I did have her professional detailed two weeks ago. Looks like you could skate on the damn hood! As you know, my chrome and rubber are not the best..... (ie, tailight bezels, bumper rubber, etc) I just don't know. I guess I'll need to try it once and see how she does......... hopefully I won't make an :moonu: of myself!!
Thanks,
Steve

Come on Steve. It's only 10 or so hours. I'll be towing the racecar out there with my Centurion. I get about 10 mpg towing. Did try towing this past week at Norwalk with the a/c on. No problem pulling and the water temp stays at 205. But the mileage....:Dou: better off sweating, figured way under 10 mpg. That was a short lived experiment.
Anyway from Delaware to Columbus should take you about 11 or so hours. We'll be doing the non stop going there taking our time. On the return trip because of lack of sleep we usually stop for the night and break it into 2 days. Try to make it, you will definitely have a great time. Cover the seats with old bed sheets , bring plenty of fruit and water in a cooler. Most likely as time gets closer there are always guys you can hook up with and follow out. Buicks are made for long hauls, just have it checked out mech. prior to going. Bring some extra belts and hoses and some tools. You'll do fine.

Srecko will be trailering his 1973 Buick Centurion to Columbus. He just joined the forum and still trying to figure out how to post pictures. He took his Centurion to a local car show this past weekend and took 1st place. The 1970 Mopar GTX was not too happy to take second to a Buick.
A picture of Srecko's Centurion is on the GS Nationals website. 2007 Race and Car Show Results
Got my 3.42 posi rear end, big car ralleys, and other misc parts. Now need the Centurion Convertible. Going to look at one owned by a little old lady in 2weeks. If I buy it, I will bring that or my 1972 GSX clone to Columbus.
Will:beers:

When you travel interstate speeds with your top down(I'm talking longer distance trips), keep your side windows up and it will make a noticeable difference in your gas mileage and your ability to converse with the other front seat occupant.
I'll have to try that with the window up.
Adding to the long rides with the top down. Wear a hat and drink plenty of fluids. Back in the late 80's (I was towing with a 73 Riv GS) while on our way to the GS Nats, Alan Wander was driving following with his 69 GS convert. He had the top down from NY, well into West Virginia. It was extremely hot out. We stopped to change his failing alternator at a diner parking lot and next thing I saw was pale faced Alan passed out from heat stroke. He had no head gear and no food or liquids with him in the car. After an hour break along with some Gatorade, fresh fruit, cool water over his head he was just fine and ready to go.
That dehydration can really get you when you least expect it. I've heard that alot of people riding motorcycles here in California for longer trips get it. It's hot and sunny, but as long as the wind keeps a breeze on you, you don't notice the sweat vaporizing as you ride.
