The starting bid seems a bit optimistic….:rooleyes2:

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that listing last night.

I was thinking it had one or two extra zeroes in the opening bid!:confused4: But the owner was good enough to correct the VIN and help out with the option list so this "C" will eventually live on in the registry regardless of the outcome.

Noticed that the chrome moldings under the doors (and body) are far wider than the ones I got?

Yes, Per, this appears to be a very, very nice example but the switch from the original green color to what appears to be Mediterranean Blue or an equivalent is a very odd mix with the Sandalwood/Neutral interior. The dash pad in particular is an unattractive contrast to the now blue exterior.
In regard to the rocker moldings, the wide rocker molding option appeared during mid-year 72 production and was option code X5. Centurion, who is currently out of town, would tell you that this option was introduced because of problems that were discovered early on with the 71s when rocks and pebbles would chip the lower part of the paint. They were introduced early in 1972 and were not only useful but attractive as well. For 1973, the option code had a different number, X6, and they seemed to more popular than during the first year of production. This same option continued on other full size Buicks through 1976. (I ordered them on my 76 LeSabre Custom 4 door sedan.) They may have also been used after that but the 1977 and later Buicks were downsized and had different bodies.

I’m with you Bob, the colour of the interior doesn’t really match the exterior dark blue that well. It would have been better to stick to the original green or similar when they repainted it.
Thanks for sharing the information regarding the Rocker moldings. I learn more and more about the Centurion thanks to guys like you.:beers:
I found my Build sheet behind the rear seat by the way, so now I have all the details about my equipment and options. I might give the registry another try now,:coffee: if I can figure out how all codes work. I have printed the Sales order form for 1973.

It is really great that you found your build sheet and now you can get your car perfectly entered into the registry -- adding such things as the dealer, dealer code, order number, etc.
It may take a bit of time (worth it) to compare the build sheet with the sales order form that you've printed off. The build sheet shows the options utilizing the UPC codes while the sales order form uses the sales codes. In most cases, the items on the build sheet marked with an * are standard equipment while those without it are the options. Just take your time and match things up and you'll do just fine.

Guys- where are good places to look for these build sheets. My ride had extensive work done on it in 93, so I may be out of luck.... I tried to register it, but don't know if it worked or not. Thanks! Steve

Steve, I believe I have your registration here on my mountain of a desk. Also, if you missed anything, I have it well documented from the inspection I did a few months ago.
