Does anyone know what kind (synthetic type or other) of exterior paint that was used on the Centurions?

Acrylic Lacquer I believe.
The original paint was acrylic lacquer. The original suppliers were DuPont and Rinshed-mason. DuPont paint was used in Flint, Fairfax, Framingham, Fremont, and Wilmington. All Southgate cars were Rinshed-mason. Autumn Gold was the only color that Rinshed-mason supplied to all assembly plants. I have all the original paint codes and numbers from 1963 to 1973.

Thanks for the input guys.
The question came up once when I was buying rubbing compound to the car, apparently it had an affect of what type to choose…
