From the script of the movie "Used Cars", the Robert Zemeckis movie starring Kurt Russell:

So, you want to buy this buick, huh?
You got good taste.

Nice to see somebody on this lot who
knows a good car when he sees one.

- So, we write it up?
- Actually, i was just looking.

Hey, terrific! Here you can look, browse,
taste, smell, do anything you want.
Nobody's gonna pressure anybody
around here.

I really think
you ought to buy this buick.

You ought to buy it right now.
This buick is you.
This is your car! Stanley dewoski
is Buick Centurion convertible.

You're thinking,
"can i afford to buy a car like this?"

You can't afford
not to buy a car like this!

When you add this whole thing up,
you'll come out 10,000 dollars ahead,
besides the pride and prestige of owning a Buick Centurion
which can't be measured in dollars and cents am I right? :) :) :) :) :)

My alltime favorite movie!! I posted this interchange at the V8 Buick website several months ago under the thread "Buicks in Movies".

What's hilarious about this scene is when Stanley was baited over to the lot he ran headfirst into the driver's door, leaving a huge dent. Those of us who own '72 convertibles know that to leave such a large dent in those heavy doors would have killed the guy!

and I may be wrong, but kidding I am not.

I have a '73 ragtop, same color, with a great big dent the same size in the same place. I'd love to be able to figure out if anyone knows anything about the Centurion they used in the movie. I've looked closely but can't tell if it has the 455 badge or not (its absence would rule mine out).

Here's a trailer for the movie..

Shows very little of the car(s), but it looks like there is more than one Centurion in the movie.

Someone should figure out how to cut Kurt's line about the prestige of owning a Buick Centurion Convertible and make it available. I wish I was more technologically inclined . . .
