You gotta love us new guys..... I 've got more questions than answers and you all seem to know where to go, so here we go again!! :Dou:
1) Front and rear mats - I'd like originals or at least good knockoffs!
2) Interior trim. Drivers side. When you open the door, it's the piece that runs from top to floor where the door meets the car. (towards the rear seat)
Does that make sense? It's a piece of molding, kinda roundish? In the panel in the rear, where the door closes.
3) Turn signal indicator on the front fenders. (so the driver can see which indicator is on?) Neither work. May just need to change bulb or clean contact?
4) Catalog or manual that actually names some of this stuff?

I tell ya, this is fun...... I have missed this!

thanks,
Steve

ps - if I get to be too big a pain in butt, just tell me... :Blasting:

That's why I created this board, Steve:beers:

1 - Juhn Fritz is working with Legendary Interiors to reproduce floor mats...and appears to be close to getting it done.

2 - I've always called it windlace...not sure of the official name. It isn't too hard to find. Any 2 door car will have it.

3 - These are fiber optic lights that work with light from your headlights. If you have your headlights on, it should shine through them with fiber optic wires. I don't know if the turn signals are supposed to be seen through them.

4 - Find a 1972 Chassis manual, and a body manual would be good, too. eBay has them on occasion for between $30-80

I don't know if the turn signals are supposed to be seen through them.

I think there's like three little diodes in the housing for the fibre optics to shine through, one for cornering (amber), lights on(white), and blue(high beam) so all should light up, or?

Man, this is more fun than I thought it would be. :D Having a good time with my new girl! Even my wife loves her, so I am in like flint!! :xyxthumbs:
However, I must once again come to you "know it all's" for some answers!!
1 - I think I've decided to keep the dash factory. That being said, I need to find a radio. The one in there is in very poor shape! (face plate pushed into the cass, knobs looking poor, etc) Where can I get an am/fm/cass to fit the bezel? Once found, I'll put some new speakers in and at least have some good tunes. May even break out a few old cassettes I have still. Anyone remember Ratt?? (ha, ha, ha......)
2 - I really need to get mats. Looking for any suggestions at this point until we can find someone to make us "repro's". I haven't a clue. Found one place that will do a set with the Buick emblem on them for something like $150. Is that reasonable price?
BTW, it's a 72 ragtop...
More Q & A coming gang!
THANKS!
Steve
