Yep and congrats to the e-bay winner on the 3.23 gears for the 9 3/8th rear. At 20 seconds left it was around $305. I figured yes I'm crazy and threw out a bid for $501 figuring I would at least cover it. I never realized the gears would go for that much let alone for the winning bid at $511 bucks!!! And he too bid only once with about 15 second left.
Well it's bitter sweet, wanted the gears and would have eaten the $500 price tag not liking it but would have taken it. But I guess in the long run I just saved $500 bucks.

For now the posi will go in with a set of 2.93 gears. Anyone got a set of 3.08's?.....yep I didn't think so  I guess I can now buy slicks for the racecar (GS455)
Lastly if the winner is on this board, Congrats!

I was bidder #1 on these.I found it strange that I opened the bidding early in the auction & there was no followup bidding. As the auction approached the last day,I figured I had it made in the shade! Then with a mere 15 or so minutes left in the auction, out came the snipers:Blasting: ,one in particular:moonu: (just kiddin Rick:beers: )that sent this into $500 range with just seconds left.I just could not justify the cost & retreated. I think I will go the 8.5 route & build it the way I want.Congrats to the winning bidder.:xyxthumbs:

Saw that Nick. I didn't want to early bid otherwise it may go way too high, but in this case I guess it didn't matter. Love that cable hook up, you can bid with 10-15 seconds left and throw in a real high bid to cover any low ball last minute bidders. I just book mark it and check on it day to day. I saw the counter was clicking way up so I knew there were others out there waiting for the 60 second frenzy. I suspected with no activity that everyone was doing the same. I guess it just boiled down to how much one is willing to spend.
In this case I got out sniped, what can you do thats e-bay:confused4: I guess my bid actually helped out the seller without realizing it, as the winning bidders max bid had to cover mine. Prior to bidding I said to myself at most maybe 425. for the gears (not that I want to spend that much) so on closing seconds I saw the other bid for 300+ I just wanted to cover him in case his max was say $400+, little did I know the guy up north chucked in the higher bid for the win. Oh well you win some and you lose some.
In the long run I guess its better I lost. E-bay can be almost as bad as gambling! Saved $500 bucks to spend else where, and the 2.93 with the posi unit will do for now replacing my 2.73 open rear.
I will be talking to you about the 8.5 route. That may be the better option down the road seeing how the cost of the 9 3/8" rears are.
