I have a blue parade boot, very good condition from a 1973 Centurion Convertible without clips, etc. I would like $ 500. plus shipping from MA or any reasonable offer. I also have snow tires on rims. I can take photos if you are interested.
Thanks for looking.

Little pricey for an incomplete cover - your price is more in line for a complete unit. Some of the clips and such are very hard to come by, there was a company reproducing some of this stuff, but I am not sure they are still in business.

What would you consider a fair price?

If you could post a picture so people could see exactly what you have and what would be needed to make it complete would help greatly. It is still a desireable item.

Here you can see such a boot coming new without hardware for 499 US$ :

If one wants it with the hardware you could get it here for 599 US$ - new (!) - :

So I guess a used parade boot without hardware has to be significantly below the 400 US$ border to get some interest of potential buyers ! Often I have seen used boots in the range of 250 to 400 US$ on Ebay - the price mainly depending on quality.

Condition being similar I would far rather have an original vs a repop. It's nice the hardware is being reproduced but by reproducing the whole boot it takes some of the excluesivness away from cars with real ones. It also makes it easier for the lessor GM cars to copy the look. I can hear a the 72 Pontuac owner, oh yes, it is correct and an original boot.

For sure original vs repro,i have found with lots of stuff, the originals quality is far superior to a repro.MOST OF THE TIME!Im going with a hunch the fit and finish of the boot would be less in quality then the factory original.Hardware though probably hard to come by original stuff, repro would do if originals were not available.
