Gents - I'll jump in as well, but I need some time to digest this and the car. Must learn my way through this. Keith - is the hard boot cover an aftermarket option? That is very cool! Do you have that b/c you use your car in parades? I am friends with our Mayor here in Newark, and he and I were discussing my car. He asked if I'd put it in the Memorial Day parade as it's an election year, he wants to ride in it. That hard boot may be the way to go. Have you all ever done anything like that? Advice is welcome! I'll post more on my car soon. However, you all probably know it better than I do.
Thanks,
Steve

By the way, probably the best way to determine whether your car's equipment was a factory option (or standard equipment) is to work through the form to submit data for the Centurion Registry at www.buickcenturion.com

If you click on the link that says "Register your Centurion HERE", you'll see areas where you can indicate each of the options your car has. Smartin has included a copy of the Wholesale Car Order Form for each of the three model years of Centurion production. This is provided in a .jpg file format, and you can click on the appropriate model year and enlarge the form to look at the full list of options you could have selected when your Centurion was first ordered from Buick Motor Division.

She's much easier on the eyes than our Mayor! :Brow: He won't cut it! I gotta work on who get's a ride in my ride!! I like the idea of the riser. Got pics of this? Is it something you had made? Thanks again Keith.
Brian - thanks for the insight. I'll load up once I learn my way through this mess and see what's included with the car.
THANKS!
Steve

Keith, are you still hoping to add the wide rocker molding option to your car?

Keith just seeing the photos of you Centurion gives me inspiration. Today the temps hit close to 50 and it was sunny. I decided to brake out my Centurion from winter storage inside a car bag, serviced it and mounted a few additions I aquired over the winter on e-bay :Brow: the newest add on option is the parade boot which I won off e-bay last year for under $300 bucks, got it painted over this winter ($200) and installed all new hardware from Hydro-E-Lectric for $150. So I guess its right in the ball park on what you said. The guy who painted it also painted the car 11 years back and also my GS back in '94. He added a soft thin rubber edging around the boot. He said it may help prevent scratching. It can be removed, as I am not sure yet if I like it.

Decide to show it off being this is the right site to do it.

With the top down and boot on. Tempting to go for a cruise, but the roads were to wet from melting snow along with residue of sand and salt.

Last shot with the top up, and back in the garage she goes. Not bad for 11 year old paint and top. Has some minor paint issues from age, but she is still a looker.

Hey Rick, that’s a really nice car!:xyxthumbs:
The paint looks fantastic, I really like the colour.

Talking about inspiration, I’ve got the same feeling. There something about the spring that makes any car enthusiast longing for a drive in their favourite vehicle, especially if you live a bit up north and have had the car put away over the winter.
We are having about 45-50 F and sun right now. The flowers starts to blossom and motorcycles can be seen on the roads again. Those are both good signs.
