Guys i need some help
My electrical schematic doesn't cover this
After some work i have done to the oil pan of the engine and the transmission oil pan
i found a burnt wire on the starter motor
followed it in to the wire-ring loom and replaced it (red thick one behind my hand in the pic)
The burnt wire was disconnected from the main lead on the starter
But now when i connect them back up there is a short circuit
So here is the question
How do i connect all the wires in the picture
I believe the thick brown one (in the middle of my hand) has to go on the S terminal of the solenoid
The yellow one (left in my hand) and the red with wire fusible link (right in my hand) on the R terminal of the solenoid
Is this correct ? and where does the thick red one belong (behind my hand)
I am afraid that the shortcircuit is the reason the wire was burned of the terminal

This is the best I can do for now...

Thanks Adam
I will clean the wires tomorrow to check their real colors because purple and black doesn't sound familiar to me
I believe the thick wire i mentioned is is for powering my convertible top and that isn't mentioned in my manual nor in your schematic

So finally i had everything connected back up (thanks Adam your schematic was very helpful)
I made some minor variations in the drawing Adam provided
I connected the brown and black wire up to the purple wire on the R terminal of the solenoid (had to they had small eyelets)
And connected the thick red wire that i had replaced up to the main battery lead on the stater motor ( it is the charge lead from the alternator)
When i measured the battery terminals i had a short circuit of 1 Ohms
Took me two weeks to figure out what that was :Dou:
but finally came to me, it helps when you close the doors and trunk and disconnect the aftermarket radio otherwise you measure a short circuit over the light bulbs (5x)and the radio memory
