View Full Version : Is their a 455 difference..Within years?

I have a 75 buick with 350 and I found a 73 455 engine out a wagon..is there a difference in 455 engine do I need a 75 455 engine? and does it matter if the wagon had no power sterring, will my power sterring pump pulley hook right up? let me know..I like the way my centurion rides the power..I wanna feel it in my 75..thanks in advance

There is a difference between 455īs.
75 - 76 motors had low compression cylinder heads.
You wouldnīt like to have one of those.
Iīm not sure about 74 engines.
But a 73 should be the same as a 72 or 71 motor.
They have more power than the later ones.
But there is no difference in putting them in your Buick.
The have the same motor mounts and transmission bolt pattern.
You should also take the 73 transmission out of the wagon.
I think your 75 Buick has a TH350 at the moment. You should put a 400 in.
What 73 wagon are we talking about? Full Size?
What 75 Buick do you have?
Maybe you can also use the drive shaft, throttle cable......
Does the 73 wagon have a posi rear end?

I think you will need a power steering pump bracket.
The 350 bracket wont fit.

Not sure what buick wagon it came out of he just said it was a wagon, Full size wagon I imagine with the 455..noy sure about the rear either..but I have a 75 buick lesabre convertable
