I have removed my engine once again so that I could sandblast what I didnt get the last time. I have also removed the front fenders and radiator support. So now I have nothing on the front of the car. The more I think about it, the more I want to pull the entire body off to sandblast the frame and shoot with a new coat of paint. I think it would complete the car. My wife and friends are calling me crazy doing this to a 32k mile car but afterall, isn't the frame what holds everything else up and together. I want to keep it nice. (been watching to many Barret/Jackson floor cams)
So my question is, after all the body bolts are loose, How do I go about lifting the body so I can remove the frame from under it. I removed a junk body from a car about 15 years ago and can only remember that I had to roll the frame backwards under the body because the frame curves up over the back wheels and sticks up higher, or something to that effect. I do not want to drop this car or scratch it.
Does anyone know a correct way of doing this? I have a tractor with a loader if I needed to incorporate this into the removal somehow. Lets hear if you have ever done this and how. Larry

The most common way is to jack up one side and support it, then raise the other side a bit and support that. Then go back to the first side and take it up another level. Work thoughtfully back and forth, supporting the body carefully during each step. You should be able to get the car up high enough to roll the frame out.

If you do tackle this task please take pictures.

I'm not sure where to jack it up safely. There doesn't appear to be anywhere on the outsides of the frame to put a jack. What do I jack up against without bending the bottom of the body panels? I think when we tackled this years ago, we had a overhead winch and strapped under the body and then lifted body off. I do not have that option available today. This is going to take some careful planning. Anymore input from the members here would be appreciated. Larry
