Bought Super Competition Headers today

Hey fellas,

Today I visited a guy I know from meetings and dealing with parts ....
I just wanted to buy a good PW motor.
I ended up with 2 Q-jets, 3 set of secondary rods, 9 different sec. hangers, and the best thind of all: a set of super competition headers he had in his 73 Electra.

If he took them out of a Electra they should fit the Centurion without any problems, right?

I´m going to take them with me to work on monday.
I´ll get them sandblasted and ceramic coated.

I can´t wait till I take the first test drive with a well tuned Q-jet, the headers on and the TA C110 in it. :beers:

They should fit no problem.

They will fit because he modified the collectors. If they were straight like the factory makes them, they would not line up with the transmission crossmember.

Great to hear that they should fit.
I hope to get them in without pulling the engine. But I think it should be possible when the car is on a lift.
Maybe I can manage to get them in before 7th June. That day we have a 1/4 mile race near my home town. I would like to see what the car runs. But I don´t expect fast passes because I have to drive it with th open rear and I still have no cam in.
But we´ll see.

Last week I also ordered some Books.
1) Buick high performance engines
2) How to rebuild and modify Rochester Q-jets

With the help of the Q-jet book, the 2nd Q-jet I bought with the headers and all the other parts like jets, rods and hangers I should be able to build a nice carb for my car. I hope so :D

Question to Adam, Rick and everyone else who thinks to know:

What rod, jet hanger combination would you start with in my situation?
I bought nearly all hangers that were available ever since.
Will 0.0400 sec. rods make it to rich? If you´re not sure, I´ll try.
What about the primarys?
