Hi guys, just recently bought this 73 455-4 Centurion from a local rodder, who decided he had too many cars in this economy. A friend of mine's grandparents bought the car new, factory shipped to Canada, and kept it as an all around driver until the husband died and the wife wouldn't drive it. The guy i bought it off of had bought it a year previous from them and did some minor work to it, as well as doing a poor job repainting it(dust, runs, orange peel). The interior is in great shape, only needing new carpet and some repair work on the front seats, the rest is in mint condition. 82,000 miles, 455 auto, AC, AM radio. The VIN is 4P57T3X120926, also have the build sheet and all of the original tags and such. The car was originally a shade darker of red, and he replaced the vinyl roof with a silver paint with lots of flake in it...seems to draw alot of attention and looks great. Sorry for the poor quality of pictures, they are cellphone snapshots. I am looking forward to being part of this community, as i have a history with the sccoa forums for supercharged Thunderbirds.

Hey, very nice car you found there, Brett, congratulations !:beers:
Never saw such a combination of a red body with a silver top - looks really good !
And also good photos with an interesting background; would like to see them in better quality someday.

Welcome to this site, Brett !
Enjoy cruising through such a beautiful landscape

Hello Brett and welcome

That’s a good-looking 73 2-D hardtop you’ve got there, I like the colors even if they’re not original.

An old buddy of mine works in Penticton, he lives up in Peachland. I went there on vacation a few years ago. Sure was a long trip but it was worth it, BC is very nice.
It's a small world isn’t it ;)

Hope you stay around and tell us more about your 73 coupe :beers:

Hi Brett,
Welcome aboard! Even though I am a terrible purist, I have to agree with the other guys that your car looks very nice. Please do register it and, since you have the build sheet, that shouldn't be a difficult job.

This is a great group of folks on here and you'll find lots of information and help if you want it. For example, if you want to know how many 73 Centurions were built in the original color or had specific options, I should be able to help you out. I'm kind of the unofficial historian on the site so don't hesitate to pick our brains.

Hope you enjoy your new find for many years to come and glad you found us.

Thanks guys, I'm really happy to have come across such a good deal on an old piece of North American history. Back when I was going to high school my friend had a '71 Chevelle with a strong 307 in it. Just happens that we had about 10 kilometers of freeway to and from school everyday, needless to say he got me hooked on the oldies. Still don't think its sunk in to my head that i have a beautiful big block yet, although the wallet sure feels it! :) I fully intend to keep this car and doing a full resto when I'm able to, as for now I'm going to spice it up and enjoy it. Still waiting for things to green up around here, and when it does i will have some spectacular photos for you guys, as the landscape here is amazing.

Brett.

Hey Brett - welcome to the show that never ends... What a great looking ride you have there. I like the color combo as well. And I love the fact that you even got our purist to admit it looks good... that's no easy task my man! Bob is a great guy, but his skin crawls with some of the stuff that the guys do to these babies!
Looking forward to more pics, info and the landscape!
Very cool stuff!

Welcome to the group.
I am also a purist but I have to admit I really like the silver over the red. :)
Looks "Dashing."

Hey Brett, did you go to the car show up in Peachland last weekend?
I heard there were like 800 classic cars there ....

No i did not make it to the Peachland show as i was unaware of it until the day of that i was working. 800 cars sounds a bit extreme to me, but possible i guess. Not quite sure what kind of turn out the local Peach City Beach Cruise at the end of the month will bring, but i will do my best to take pictures of all the Buicks ;)
