Hey guys/gals... who's had the chance to get their cars out on the street recently?
I know Rick got his out of the cocoon and towed his racer to the track... I bet it felt good driving her again, hey Rick?
I also know some of you "southern" boys never have to put yours away... lucky guys you are!
Sitting at work, the weather has broken a bit, but I've only had it out (other than backing from garage, removing the cover and letting it idle) once since before Christmas! I'm missing it a bunch! Hoping to take her out for a nice ride on Friday... only, if by chance, the weatherman actually gets the forecast right!
Anyone do work over the winter that you haven't shared here? Let's see some pics!
I have a coveted right side mirror I'm contemplating putting on shortly, but truth be told, I am scared to do it!
What else is going on? (Yes, I am sitting here at work, day dreaming... not really feeling like doing much!)

Although we have still cold weather in Germany I was on the road twice during the last 2 weeks, Steve. First time we had sunshine but only ca.47°F and I drove with closed top, but last Saturday we had ca.53°F in bright sunshine and I made a long ride with my daughter. She drove the car half the way and so we both were lucky driving that giant while hearing the engine and feeling the wind rush through our hair :p . But we also got cold ears !
Now weather turned back to only 35-41°F and rain, sometimes snow again ... .
No work done at the car until now, it was too cold for ! Waiting for the warmer spring days lasts longer this year ... .:rooleyes2:
BTW: John, when I lowered my top I did as you told me and synchronisized the drive cables and then losened the adjusting screw at the left side to get the top a little bit deeper which would allow me to install my parade boot. It came down half an inch - not enough, but I will try to get it deeper another half inch when it´s warmer. Seems as if it might be possible. BIG THANKS for your advice, John :xyxthumbs: !!!

I got mine inspected and I had a lot of maintenance work done. I had the oil changed, new exhaust system, wheel alignment, and a major tune up and new spark plug wires.
There's still more to go but the mechanic felt that the car is in very good shape for its age.
The transmissions seals have a leak, the shocks need to be replaced and the valve cover gaskets should be replaced too. He also recommended having the carbuerator cleaned and rebuilt.
I drove it home last night and she ran great. :D
I'm still apprehensive when I'm driving it but I am getting more comfortable..
Sometime in April I will take it back to the mechanic for some more of the maintenance work. Of course everything costs big bucks.
I also want to take it the radio repair guy I found and have him check out the stereo to see what that needs.
Then we'll take the rest of the work slow.

Well Steve, I think it’s safe to say that spring is just around the corner here ;).
I was out driving this last Sunday even though it rained. I was eager to test drive it after finally doing that ignition upgrade (see post #179-189 in http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=63475&page=8) that I was supposed to do last year .

I'm getting anxious to take the car out, but Spring has not cooperated. I also have to do some work on the project car that is behind the convertible so I can get it out of the way. 1 car driveways have their limitations.
Every spring I sit in the car for that first drive and think holy sh!t that's a lot of hood out there. Then the smile set in. :D
