Ok, a couple of weeks ago I noticed fuel leaking from the the fuel tank area on the passenger side, I was dressed very nice at the moment but managed to se a short hose from the tank to a fuel line that looked VERY dry.
I later replaced the hose and thought everything was ok, Drove the car for 2 hours around town and stopped frequently and looked for leaks, everything looked fine.
Next time I cold started the car I went around and looked....Fuel leaking again....
I determined that I really have to inspect what was going on.
I noticed that there are 4 hoses/lines fom the tank?!
One on each side, and 2 in the middle.
It is only leaking while engine is running, and from what I understand
mostly when the car is "cold".
Any ideas?
Thanks for reading

If youīve got one old, dry hose itīs a good idea to replace them all.
I know. Thatīs one of the things you realy donīt want to do. Dust and dirt in your eyes and mouth and look like you didnīt see the shower for weeks. But itīs worth the few hours. My car had the same problem. I replaced 2 hoses which I thought they were leaking. But it didnīt help. So, one fine day I pulled the tank, removed the sending unit, put a new gasket in, and replaced all hoses in all lines from tank to carb.
Iīm sure you will like it ;)

No I dont, but it would be fun to know why there are 4 hoses...

I think 2 of them are the tank ventilation system (2 on each side)
one of the hoses in the center runs to the fuel pump and the other comes back from the vapor canister.
Anyone correct me, if Iīm wrong.

Problem solved, main fuel hose was damaged, had the tank down. Inspected everything. There are actually 5 hoses, 3 vents, 1 "main" and 1 return.
Out driving for three hours, weather was NICE!:)

Good to hear that.

The original fuel lines were not designed for gas with ethanol in it. Some of the rubber hoses, particularly older brittle ones seem to breakdown quicker with the new fuel.
Many of these hoses are original and with more than 35 years it could be time to replace them.
