could any one tell me how to remove the blinker knob/shaft from the steering column? It does not simply twist out like other old cars i have seen in the past.

Thanks for all the help, I love this place.

Hi Remy
With my '73 i needed to remove the steering wheel
after that i removed a locking ring held in place with a C-clip
Beware there is a sturdy spring behind it
After removing the spring i had to unbolt a cover and finnaly i could unbold the turning signal arm its held in place by a tiny bold

Hope this helps you

If you dig deep enough that you have to remove the heavily loaded spring, make sure you have a spring compressor to be able to install that f*cker again, otherwise you'll have a car you can't drive. You'll also need a steering wheel remover to take the wheel off. Get those two tools if you're going in, only like $10-15 each.
