I see the word Riviera spelled 3 different ways on that ad:coffee::Dou:

I cannot tell you if it is correct for the '70 Riviera . It does look similar to my '73 passenger side mirror which is a non-remote and correct part for the car. The mirror on the '73 model has the two threaded posts and looks the same in size as shown in the e-bay ad. Problem is I am not sure if the remote option was available for the Centurion, maybe someone else can chime in on this. Though it would be nice to have I would see that mounting switch will be a problem.
As for the '71 and '72 Centurion models, the mirrors are different than the '73 model and the one shown in the e-bay ad. I am pretty sure there is a metal mounting bracket that is screwed to the door skin then the the plastic gasket and mirror attaches to the metal bracket with a single screw that goes thu the front corner of the mirror into the bracket.
I checked with the Buick Bible:Brow: Models thru 1975 Chassis and Body Illustration Catalog Book. It does NOT list any remote mirror for the '73 models, BUT on section 10:00 page 10-17 it shows one available for the "1974 B-C-E Models Remote Mirror Control-Right Side" This would include the large cars. The '74 dash is very similar to the '73 dash.
Either way the remote mounting will be the big problem as you would have to find a car that has one or hack away and make one fit (not recommended).
The switch mounting; is a mounting plate that goes where the trip odometer switch is located on the dash, and the trip odometer has a different toggle type mounted switch that mounts under the dash to the left of the ash tray. Also the illustration shows a different face plate which I would assume has the mirror remote labeled on the face.
I posted the illustration.
So on answering your question I can see the mirror will work, but you would have to find out how to mount the control switch.

Think it could be used without the remote?

Oh I agree, just let the remote part hang inside the door. If I was in need of a passenger side mirror I would go for it. Originally I found a passenger side mirror that was correct for the 71 & 72 Centurion, but not correct for my '73. I used it anyway. Then I hooked up with Steve Dewbers on this site. He had a correct 73 mirror and was in need of a 72 mirror. Both mirrors were in excellent shape, so we just swapped them. So you never know. If the price doesn't get crazy for that one, I would go for it. Good luck with the bidding.:xyxthumbs:

Maybe you could mount the control switch for the mirror inside the ashtray. It would be concealed there and easy to access…..unless you use the ashtray for its purpose of course
Just a thought….:coffee:

Rick,
Is the right side mirror smaller than the left "remote" mirror? Do you have the part number for the right?
Thanks

I have yet to mount the mirror Rick and I swapped. I'm nervous about drilling into a perfectly good door!
One of these days I grow a pair and do it. I'm with you, I'm tried of driving it without the mirror. I've become so Dependant on it in my daily driver.
Good luck fella's.
