Hey,
Maybe someone can help me:
A friend of mine has 62 Buick with a 215 V8 in.
There was much work on the car, but this weekend it will
get back on the road again. (first time since 10 years)

A few days ago we replaced the stock down flow radiator with a
nice perfromace aluminum cross flow radiator.
The lower radiator hose is nearly at the same position it was with
the stock radiator. But the upper radiator hose is located at the drivers
side of the car now.

So we have to modify the water neck. I want to cut off the flange
and weld it on in the position we need. But that would mean that I
have to close the heater bypass.

Could that be a problem? :confused4:

Here´s a pic of the engine bay.

We had engine and transmission removed.
Rebuilt the heads, and the transmission.
Replaced all gaskets, cleaned everything.
And put in nice parts like offy valvecovers, Performer Intake,
500CFM Thunder Series Carb, Elite Series Air Cleaner, all new Ignition,
electric Carter fuel pump, stainless fuel line from (tank-carb)....

If you eliminate the bypass you have to cut out the center of the thermostat, and reinstall the disc part. It will let the coolant flow at the proper rate to cool the engine properly.
