I must buy some parts for my centurion...
I want a good shock absorber...your opinion??
(I don't know ACDELCO..)
ACDELCO GAS CHARGED
MONROE {MONRO-MATIC PLUS SHOCK ABSORBER}
MONROE {SENSA-TRAC PASSENGER CAR SHOCK ABSORBER}
ACDELCO {PREMIUM GAS CHARGED #88945177}
SACHS
Gas is very hard? I do not think... but some of hardness is good..

Ste-ITA,
the Centurion has the best suspension of all Full-Size cars
available in the 70īs and before. But that doesnīt mean that you canīt improve itīs handling.
I donīt know the condition of your front end. But I can tell you what I did
with mine. I put in a set of new control arm bushings (OEM, no poly urthane).
Replaced the sway bar bushings with new poly urethane end link bushings AND sway bar bushings. And I installed a set of Gabriel Gas Ryder shocks.
The car handles much better. The Gabriel shocks are a bit stiffer than the
stock shocks. While normal driving you wonīt feel any difference. Comfort
on the highway is excellent. But you can take a corner faster than some
camaro guys can :Brow:
Also you will like the price :xyxthumbs:
If you donīt want to order them in the US, KTS American Parts in Germany has them in stock. About 40 EUR per shock. You can also buy the control arm bushings and the poly urethane stuff at KTS. If you donīt find the parts for the Centurion, try to search their parts libery for a 72 Caprice. The parts will fit the Centurion.

Erik,
I used stock replacement part because I had no experience with PU bushing at that time.
So I bought the PU bushings for the sway bar only because they are easy to change.
But you donīt want to replace control arm bushings twice, just because you donīt like how they handle. If I had to rebuild my front end again I would use PU bushings. At the moment Iīm rebuilding the complete suspension of a 87 Fiero GT. I use PU bushings all around. And on my 57 Bel Air I also use PU bushings.
But to stay at the Centurion: I canīt tell you if there is a feelable difference.
The PU sway bar bushings make a big difference.It handles very well, also with the stock control arm bushings.
Good stock bushing will also do a good job, but Iīm sure PU bushings are the way to go.
One thing I can tell you for sure, the PU bushings will last longer.

It was my intention to change everything for PU
Because a friend of mine changed the bushing on his Firebird and that greatley improved the handeling on the car
But when i saw your remark i was curious on why going stock instaed of the stiffer and longer lasting pu
So you eased my mind and i'm still going for PU
Thanks
